To go from point A to point B you have to know where you are at to start. When you ask your phone for directions somewhere, what is the first thing that it asks you? It asks, “What is your current location?” If you want to make changes in your life, you have to ask yourself these same questions. You need to know where you are at in life and why you want to make changes.
The first thing you need to do is get quiet. We were not made for all of the distractions in our lives. You can’t begin to change while sitting around watching reality TV. Turn off your phones, the TV, your laptop, every distraction in your life. Get quiet if only for 15 minutes. Now think about why you want to make changes in your life. If you are not where you want to be, in any area of your life, then what is holding you back. Is it fear? Is it lack of education? Is it a traumatic experience from your past? Is it those thoughts in your head telling you, you can’t reach your dreams and goals for some reason? Whatever it is, this is your starting point. This is your point A.
This next week, you need to set aside 15 minutes every day to quiet your mind and tune everything out. Focus your mind on your thoughts and purposefully think about where your life is at and why? This is the beginning of change.
