Learning shouldn’t stop with the diploma.

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. – Henry Ford

Besides being put on this earth to accomplish our purpose and enjoy our passions, we are here to continually learn and grow. Taking time out of your day to learn about your passions is a good thing. We all need balance in our life, so remember to include this time in your day as well.

Learning to increase our knowledge of something positive that will help us or those around us should be considered constructive selfishness. Learning and growing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually are the absolute greatest gifts you can give to yourself and your loved ones. Why? Because as you grow and become more mature in each of these areas you will find who you really are. This allows us to become our best self. Being our best self creates happiness within that will then overflow into our relationships.

Life is about relationships. We do not show love to others if we are not happy ourselves. When we are happy with who we are, we help others see that it’s okay to be who they are. So spend some time being constructively selfish. As you become your best through new knowledge and wisdom, you will reflect that in all of your interactions with others.

Action step: Give yourself permission to be selfish today, so you can be your best tomorrow. Not sure where to start? Shoot me an email and we can discuss a plan: jenny@jenniferhester.com
